Four days aboard a boat can be a little boring, but our boat the Laurence M. Gould is a lot of fun.  Perhaps most importantly, the food is great.  Life on the boat revolves around meals, at least it does for me!  The boat has many of the comforts of home, including a TV and big comfy reclining chairs – but we can only watch movies, there are no actual TV channels.  The scientists who will be staying aboard the boat after I get off at Palmer Station have begun setting-up their research labs.  The seas have been very calm, and the boat is making good progress.
