It takes about 7 days to get to Palmer Station! My trip starts at the Tampa airport, goes through Miami, then Santiago (the capital city of Chile, South America), then to Punta Arenas (also in Chile, at the southern tip).  We have 2 days in Punta Arenas before leaving on a boat for the 4 day trip across the Southern Ocean to Antarctica.  This map shows the crossing of the Drake Passage to get from Punta Arenas to Palmer Station.
