While I am still in Florida preparing for my trip “to the ice,” other folks are already down at Palmer Station conducting research as part of the Palmer Station Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Program.  The Palmer LTER logo is above.  Take a closer look at it and you will see a little red dot, which is Palmer Station.  You also see krill (zooplankton), penguins, sea ice, and phytoplankton (and perhaps microbes…).  This shows you the different areas of the marine environment that are studied as part of the Palmer LTER.  Click on the logo to see the Palmer LTER blog and learn more about all the research that is going on this field season.
